Kalipani

Yesterday afternoon, Autumn, Andrew & I got to go to Kalipani with Ray. It was so much fun. We sat in on the first half an hour of his bible class then we went with Simon (Simon is a boy who goes to the Bread of Life Academy, an elementary school for underprivilged kids, he's also the principal's son) on an adventure into a little mud stream near the school. It was great. After the bible class was over, Timothy, Raja, Nyin, Simon, Sarat (?), Autumn & I all hung out and played football (the version where you kick a ball around with your feet not throw it and try to tackle people) and other games. It was fun. They all speak decent english so we could communicate a bit. I know going there is definately going to become a highlight of my weeks here. It is very beautiful there. There is a beautiful mountain and a bunch of beautiful bamboo trees and coconut trees and all kinds of lush vegetation. The people are so kind and welcoming too. We have tea when we go out there and it's even hotter there than in Guwahati. I've gotten used to drinking hot liquids though. When I first got here I asked Ellen how people could stand to drink something hot while they were sweating and she said it was just something you get used to, it was normal here. Her words turned out very true and now I look forward to drinking tea despite the heat. It's Andrew's 11th birthday today so Me, Autumn, Andrew, Raja and Kuldip are going to the science center here in Guwahati then coming back for cake and ice cream. Should be fun! Take care and have a great day!

Blessings,
Nadine
